Austria’s People’s suspends only route through mid-1Q21
People’s (PE, Altenrhein) has announced it has suspended its only scheduled route, from Vienna to Altenrhein, through February 14, 2021, due to renewed lockdowns in both Austria and Switzerland and accompanying travel restrictions. The Austrian airline, which operates a single ERJ 170-100STD, flew its scheduled route for the last time on December 21, 2020. However, flights were already suspended between December 3 and December 17. Throughout 2020, People’s has operated a reduced schedule, flying daily at the maximum but frequently less than that. Normally, it operates the route 11x weekly. During the summer season, the carrier also operates charter flights to the Mediterranean. Following People’s decision to suspend operations, Altenrhein, an airport serving Sankt Gallen in Switzerland and Bregenz in Austria, sees no scheduled flights.
