AVA Resort Cancun to Redefine Luxury and Sustainability in 2024
AIC Hotel Group is elevating its portfolio with the upcoming AVA Resort Cancun, a luxurious property set to officially open in October 2024. Currently in soft-launch mode since June, the resort is poised to offer guests an exceptional experience, complete with 1,600 suites across 13 room categories and a range of upscale amenities. The AVA Resort Cancun will also host the AIC Showstopper Awards this week, showcasing its commitment to excellence.
The new resort emphasizes sustainability as a core value, positioning itself as a benchmark for the future of the hospitality industry. “AVA Cancun is the next level of all-inclusive,” said the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AIC Hotel Group during a packed presentation to 250 attendees. “We’re focusing on sustainability, integrating solar energy and the latest technology to reduce our carbon footprint.”
A standout feature of AVA Resort Cancun is the AVA Bay, a sprawling 2.7-acre saltwater pool powered by Crystal Lagoons technology. This innovative system uses biodegradable chemicals and includes a self-cleaning robot, named Wally, that monitors water quality through sensors, thus minimizing water waste and reducing the environmental impact typically associated with traditional pools.
Fernando Garcia, General Manager of the resort, highlighted the impressive sustainability measures in place, stating, “Despite the size of this property, we maintain a very low carbon footprint.” The resort boasts 3,600 solar panels that generate 40% of its daily energy needs, supported by Tesla battery storage that allows the property to operate independently of the city’s power grid.
In addition to its energy-efficient initiatives, AVA Resort Cancun features its own water treatment plant, with 95% of wastewater being reused. Sustainability extends to the interior design, with flooring made from recycled materials and a state-of-the-art air conditioning system utilizing eco-friendly refrigerants.
Maria Bernal, Sales Manager for AVA Resort Cancun, emphasized the importance of investing in sustainability, saying, “We want properties to be as eco-friendly as possible, without sacrificing luxury services.” This commitment ensures that guests can enjoy a high-end experience while being mindful of their environmental impact.
The resort’s design is inspired by a cruise ship layout, featuring a north-south promenade lined with restaurants and shops, connecting to a sprawling 60,000 sq ft spa and dedicated kids’ and teen clubs. Each of the resort’s oceanfront rooms, located in two towers, offers modern and spacious accommodations, appealing to families and couples alike.
“We aimed to elevate our all-inclusive concept,” explained Natalie Perez, PR Account Executive for AIC Hotel Group. The resort will feature diverse amenities, including a waterpark for children, an adults-only pool, and seven specialty restaurants, each requiring reservations. Dining options include Italian, steakhouse, Mexican, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisine, alongside 27 bars and cafes.
Conveniently located just 10 minutes from the airport in Cancun’s hotel zone, AVA Resort Cancun is set to be a popular destination for weddings and vacations, with 15 weddings already booked for 2024 and 40 for 2025. While the beach area is narrow, ceremonies will take place on a terrace overlooking the stunning ocean views.
As AVA Resort Cancun prepares for its grand opening, it promises to be a game-changer in luxury hospitality, combining high-end experiences with a commitment to sustainability. With its exceptional amenities and innovative approach, this resort is positioned to redefine the all-inclusive vacation experience.
