Avelo Airlines Announces New Las Vegas Base with Nonstop Flights
Avelo Airlines is set to expand its presence in the United States with the opening of its sixth base in Las Vegas on September 7, 2023. The news, unveiled on June 26, 2023, revealed that the new hub will initially serve five nonstop destinations, providing affordable and convenient air service to previously underserved communities.
The addition of Las Vegas to Avelo’s existing bases at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Burbank Airport, Orlando International Airport, Philadelphia / Delaware Valley’s Wilmington Airport, Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport is a strategic move to broaden the airline’s reach.
Avelo will introduce four new nonstop destinations from Las Vegas, including Redmond Municipal Airport, Brownsville South Padre Island Airport, Dubuque Regional Airport, and California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport. Notably, Avelo will be the sole airline offering nonstop flights between Las Vegas and these five destinations.
Andrew Levy, the Chairman, and CEO of Avelo Airlines expressed enthusiasm about the new base, stating that Las Vegas is a winning choice due to its status as the Entertainment Capital of the World. He emphasized that the new hub will provide exclusive nonstop access to Vegas for customers from these communities and others in the future.
Avelo Airlines has been gaining momentum since its launch in April 2021 as America’s first new airline in nearly 15 years. With the addition of the new Las Vegas base, the airline plans to initially base a Boeing Next-Generation (NG) 737-700 with a seating capacity of 147 passengers.
This expansion promises to bring increased accessibility, more flight options, and job opportunities to Las Vegas, making it a win-win situation for both Avelo Airlines and their valued customers. Travelers can look forward to experiencing Avelo’s commitment to affordability, convenience, and reliability on their journey to the popular destination of Las Vegas and beyond.
