Avialpes Jet Retires Citation Mustang, Focuses on Diamond DA-62s

Avialpes Jet has officially retired its only corporate jet, a Citation Mustang, marking the end of an era for the company’s jet operations. The 15.1-year-old aircraft, registered as F-HSHB (msn 510-0259), had been in service with Avialpes since 2018. Its final active flight was on May 1, 2024, between Salzburg and Annecy.

The Citation Mustang remained parked in Annecy until September 10, when it flew to Paris Le Bourget. From December 5 to 7, the jet embarked on a transatlantic journey to Bragança Paulista, Brazil. The route included stops at Wick, Reykjavik Keflavik, Narsarsuaq, Goose Bay, Montréal Trudeau, Wilmington International, Fort Lauderdale International, Aguadilla, Bridgetown, Macapá, and Gurupi. Upon arrival in Brazil, the aircraft was re-registered as PS-BGP.

With the retirement of the Citation Mustang, Avialpes Jet now operates a fleet of three Diamond DA-62 aircraft under its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC). The move reflects a strategic shift to focus on light aircraft operations.

Avialpes Jet is the private jet division of Avialpes, which is based in Annecy and specializes in scenic flights and flight training. Avialpes holds a separate AOC that includes three Robin DR400s and a Cessna 182. Additionally, the company operates other general aviation aircraft outside of its certified fleet.

This transition underscores Avialpes’ commitment to streamlined operations and its expertise in light aircraft services, catering to both private aviation and pilot training markets.
