Avianca Cargo has appointed ATC Aviation Services to act as its General Sales, and Service Agent (GSSA) in Germany and Switzerland.

The deal starts on March 1 and will “strengthen Avianca Cargo’s presence in the region and enhance its cargo sales and services”, according to ATC.

The deal also represents a return to ATC for Avianca as the company previously provided GSSA services to the Colombia-based airline.

“We are thrilled to partner again with Avianca Cargo and support their growth in Germany and Switzerland,” said Ingo Zimmer, chief executive of ATC. “As a GSSA, our focus is to provide customized solutions to meet the unique needs of our clients.”

Ignasi Vera, cargo sales manager European Union–Asia, Avianca Cargo, added: “We are excited about our partnership with ATC and the value they bring to our cargo operations. Their expertise in cargo sales and marketing, combined with our extensive network, will enable us to provide unparalleled service to our customers.”

Avianca Cargo’s network covers the Americas, Europe and Asia and it serves more than 50 destinations with a fleet of Airbus A330 freighters, in addition to operating bellies in passenger aircraft.

Last year, the Colombian airline invested in its digital offering – joining three booking portals. It also added three service levels.
