Boeing and Avolon, the International Aircraft Leasing Company, have announced a significant order for 40 737 MAX airplanes during the Paris Air Show. This partnership reaffirms their commitment to the 737 MAX program and extends Avolon’s delivery pipeline until 2030.

Avolon’s CEO, Andy Cronin, expressed confidence in the long-term demand for the 737 MAX from their customers and highlighted the importance of transitioning to more fuel-efficient aircraft for sustainability goals. The 737 MAX offers greater network flexibility to Avolon’s customers while reducing fuel consumption and emissions by 20% compared to older aircraft models, resulting in annual CO2 savings of up to 8 million pounds per airplane.

Stan Deal, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, emphasized the popularity of the 737-8 model among leasing companies and the strong demand from customers. Avolon, a key leasing partner, has a longstanding relationship with the 737 MAX program and took delivery of the 1,000th 737 MAX last year. This order further strengthens their collaboration and expands Avolon’s Boeing portfolio.

The 737-8 models, capable of seating 162 to 210 passengers and with a range of 3,500 nautical miles, are renowned for their versatility, making them ideal for profitable operations on short and medium-haul routes.

Boeing has witnessed exceptional demand for its new commercial airplanes, with over 1,000 orders and commitments since July 2022. Among these, more than 750 orders are specifically for the 737 MAX, underscoring its value, adaptability, and widespread use across the aviation industry.
