Azamara Expands Ashore Land Programs for 2026–28
Azamara Cruises is relaunching its Azamara Ashore land programs, expanding its portfolio of pre- and post-cruise experiences designed to deepen cultural immersion and extend time in destination.
Between 2026 and 2028, the cruise line will introduce 17 new land programs, bringing the total offering to 84 curated experiences across Africa, Asia, Oceania, Europe and the Americas. The expanded lineup reflects growing demand for longer stays and more meaningful engagement beyond traditional port calls.
According to CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler, the relaunch responds directly to guest feedback seeking slower-paced, immersive travel. The programs are structured to allow travelers to explore destinations more naturally and unhurriedly, connecting with local communities, cuisine and heritage in greater depth.
The Azamara Ashore portfolio includes 37 programs unique to the brand. Options range from streamlined Hotel Stays, which simplify arrivals and departures with transfers and end-to-end logistics, to two-night City Stays that highlight iconic urban centers. For guests seeking more extensive exploration, three- to six-night AzAmazing Journeys offer in-depth cultural and experiential travel in bucket-list destinations.
Among the standout itineraries is “Victoria Falls & Chobe National Park With Micato Safaris,” a land program that takes travelers from Zimbabwe to Botswana, combining a visit to Victoria Falls with a safari experience in Chobe National Park. Another highlight is “Machu Picchu, Cusco & Hiram Bingham Train with Coltur Peru,” which explores Peru’s Sacred Valley and includes a journey aboard the luxury Hiram Bingham train, complete with dining and open bar service.
The relaunch underscores Azamara’s positioning in the premium cruise segment, where extended destination immersion and smaller-ship access are key differentiators. By integrating robust land programs with its voyage itineraries, the cruise line aims to deliver seamless travel experiences that go beyond the ship and into the heart of each region.
With expanded Azamara Ashore options rolling out through 2028, the company is reinforcing its commitment to experiential cruising, offering guests curated land extensions that transform a voyage into a more comprehensive cultural journey.
