Hosted by the Nassau & Paradise Island Promotion Board in partnership with Nassau Airport Development Company and The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, Routes Americas 2025 presents a unique opportunity for the Bahamas to showcase its robust air connectivity improvements. Recent efforts have yielded impressive results, with Nassau Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) recording 3 million departure seats during 2024—a year-on-year rise of 7%. This achievement reinforces the islands’ status as a premier travel destination in the Caribbean, where enhanced air services are pivotal to continued tourism growth and economic development.

Steven Small, Director of Routes, emphasized the event’s impact: “With a record number of airlines in attendance and our largest ever exhibition, it is clear the pivotal role the event plays for the air service development community in defining the region’s air services.” Independent analysis indicates that airports in previous host destinations experienced network growth nearly 6.9% above comparable airports within three years. This statistic highlights the tangible benefits that Routes Americas events have on local air connectivity and economic progress.

NPIPB CEO Joy Jibrilu echoed these sentiments, stating, “Hosting Routes Americas in 2025 is an incredible opportunity to welcome top travel industry professionals to Nassau & Paradise Island. Our enhanced air connectivity, including groundbreaking services like TSA PreCheck and expedited customs clearance at LPIA, positions The Bahamas as a leading destination in the region.” Jibrilu anticipates that the event will spark new partnerships, boost airlift capacity, and amplify global awareness of the Bahamas, ultimately driving increased visitor arrivals, investment, and long-term economic benefits for Bahamians.

Latia Duncombe, Director General of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation, summed up the strategic vision: “By leveraging data-driven route development and embracing emerging technologies, we are poised to shape the next phase of connectivity and visitor access, ensuring sustainable growth for our aviation sector.”

Routes Americas 2025 is not just an exhibition—it is a catalyst for transformative change, setting the stage for a new era of enhanced air connectivity and tourism prosperity in the Bahamas and across the region.
