Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior has finalized an agreement with Airbus for the acquisition of nine H145 helicopters. These advanced aircraft will be deployed by the Police Aviation Command to enhance law enforcement and emergency medical services across the kingdom.

The Airbus H145 is renowned for its versatility, offering multiple configurations to suit various mission requirements. These include a two-pilot setup with an operator workstation in the rear, seating for up to five police officers with a console operator, or capacity for nine SWAT team members or 10 troops.

The latest model of the H145 features an innovative five-bladed rotor, increasing its useful load capacity by 150kg, making it an ideal choice for multi-role operations. Olivier Michalon, Executive Vice President for Global Business at Airbus Helicopters, expressed pride in Bahrain joining the global H145 community. “We are confident the H145 will prove to be a valuable asset for the Bahraini police. Its adaptability makes it indispensable for public safety missions worldwide,” Michalon stated.

The H145’s capabilities extend beyond law enforcement. In the Middle East alone, over 60 units are already operational, supporting a range of tasks from emergency medical services to energy sector operations and utility missions. Globally, more than 1,700 H145 helicopters are in service, collectively logging over eight million flight hours.

Powered by two Safran Arriel 2E engines and equipped with the Helionix digital avionics suite, the H145 offers exceptional performance and safety. Its 4-axis autopilot reduces pilot workload, while its low acoustic footprint and minimal CO2 emissions make it the quietest and most environmentally friendly helicopter in its class.

As Bahrain integrates the H145 into its fleet, the move underscores the kingdom’s commitment to modernizing its aerial capabilities for critical missions, further solidifying its position as a leader in public safety and emergency response in the region.
