Panasonic Avionics Corporation (PAC) has entered into an agreement with Bamboo Airways, to provide its eX3 in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems (IFEC) on the Vietnamese leisure airline’s widebody Boeing 787-9 fleet.

The installation process has already begun, with eX3-equipped aircraft entering service on the airline’s intercontinental routes to Europe and Australia. Passengers will benefit from HD screens at each seat, complete with capacitive touch displays and handsets, and USB and laptop charging facilities. In business class, passengers will enjoy 18in HD seatback displays, with 13in screens in premium economy class, and 12in in economy.

Bamboo Airways has also selected PAC’s global in-flight connectivity services, which deliver claimed average speeds up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) to the aircraft via Panasonic’s global network of high-speed, high-bandwidth satellites.

Ken Sain, CEO of Panasonic Avionics, stated, “We are honoured to be partnering with Bamboo Airways’ as they launch intercontinental services. We are confident that our proven in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems will enhance their passenger experience, and help them quickly build customer loyalty on these major new routes.”
