Bangladesh’s NovoAir Halts Flights, Seeks Investor and Sells Fleet

NovoAir (VQ, Dhaka) has suspended all flight operations as it searches for new investors and attempts to liquidate its fleet of ATR72-500 aircraft.

According to ch-aviation analysis of ADS-B data, the airline’s last flight was on May 1, 2025, operating the Dhaka–Cox’s Bazar route and back using ATR72-500 S2-AJM (msn 687). Of the five aircraft in NovoAir’s fleet, two others remained active until late April, one was last used in February, and another has been parked at Dhaka since September 2022.

Local media reports confirmed the suspension, which NovoAir insists is temporary. The airline is also actively seeking investors to help restructure or restart its operations.

In June 2024, NovoAir enlisted Airstream International Group to remarket its five ATR72-500 turboprops. These aircraft remain listed for sale. Initially, the airline intended to upgrade its fleet with A321-200s and later shifted plans to acquire A320-200s, but aircraft availability and tight market conditions hindered progress.

NovoAir had served several domestic routes and was among Bangladesh’s key private carriers. Its sudden suspension highlights ongoing financial and operational challenges within the region’s aviation market.
