Bankrupt San Jose, Calif., hotel catches break in court

A US bankruptcy court judge has granted breathing room to owners of the historic, idled Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, Calif. The judge approved a plan for short-term financing of $2.5 million by the owners, while they seek permission to woo new brands that they say could provide up to $45 million to revive operations.
