BBN Airlines Indonesia, under the Avia Solutions Group umbrella, has announced the acquisition of four Boeing 737 aircraft, setting the stage for an ambitious expansion plan to operate a fleet of 40 planes by 2027. The airline finalized deals for three Boeing 737-800s and one Boeing 737-400F in November 2023, marking a significant step in its growth strategy.

Currently, these aircraft are undergoing maintenance checks and are slated to begin operations for unscheduled domestic and international passenger charter flights by early March 2024. This acquisition will bring BBN Airlines Indonesia’s total fleet to six aircraft early in the year, with plans for further expansion to cater to increasing market demand.

Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, expressed confidence in the airline’s growth trajectory, highlighting the potential for increased load factors and the opportunity to open new routes. The focus remains on bolstering unscheduled passenger charter flight services and air cargo transportation, areas where BBN Airlines Indonesia sees significant potential for development.

This fleet expansion is part of Avia Solutions Group’s broader strategic push in the Asia-Pacific region, where the company is actively investing. Grigas emphasized the importance of these new additions in supporting BBN Airlines Indonesia’s goal of operating 40 aircraft by 2027, a move expected to strengthen the Indonesian aviation sector on both domestic and international fronts.
