BBN Airlines Thailand, a new player in the aviation industry, is gearing up for its launch and aims to obtain a Thai Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) by October 2024. The parent holding company, Avia Solutions Group, shared plans for the startup, revealing that BBN Airlines Thailand intends to kick off operations with an initial fleet of four Airbus narrowbody aircraft by the end of next year.

The startup has recently taken a crucial step by submitting an application for an Operating License (OL), a prerequisite for the AOC certification process. BBN Airlines Thailand will focus on the wet-lease and charter market, offering fully customized Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) solutions within the region. The ambitious plan includes expanding the fleet to 16 units by the close of 2025.

Avia Solutions Group, the parent company, disclosed that BBN Airlines Thailand will operate a combination of A320-200s and A321-200s. However, specific details regarding the exact number of each aircraft type were not provided.

Martynas Grigas, Chairman of BBN Airlines Thailand, also holds the same position at the already active sister carrier, BBN Airlines Indonesia, which operates Boeing aircraft. Avia Solutions Group boasts an extensive portfolio of aviation companies, including Avion Express, SmartLynx Airlines, KlasJet, AirExplore, and BBN Airlines Nordic/BBN Airlines Türkiye, all contributing to the group’s comprehensive ACMI and charter services in the market.

As BBN Airlines Thailand takes concrete steps toward its launch, the introduction of a modern Airbus fleet positions the carrier to tap into the growing demand for flexible and tailored air travel solutions in the region.
