Beijing Daxing International Airport Hits 30 Million Passenger Milestone
Since its grand opening on September 25, 2019, Beijing Daxing International Airport has achieved a remarkable milestone by welcoming its 30 millionth passenger this Wednesday.
Boasting impressive numbers, the airport reports having facilitated a massive 700,000 inbound and outbound flights. This has resulted in a total passenger throughput of a whopping 84.55 million journeys. Additionally, the airport has seen a cargo throughput amounting to 570,000 tons. As part of its future aspirations, the airport has established an ambitious goal to handle 39 million passengers this year alone.
The airport’s flight volume is on an impressive trajectory of recovery. Since the start of January 17 this year, Beijing Daxing International Airport has processed over 1.4 million international and regional inbound and outbound passenger services. This has been made possible due to the operations by 54 domestic and international airlines that cover a vast network of 202 routes connecting to 185 destinations.
It’s noteworthy that among these, there are over 30 international and regional routes. These routes bridge major aviation hubs across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Some of the most frequented routes include destinations like London, Moscow, Doha, Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Macao. This achievement underscores Beijing Daxing International Airport’s rapidly growing significance.
