In a significant milestone, BeOnd, the Maldives-based airline, has introduced its first aircraft, an A319-100 registered as 8Q-FBA (msn 2119), signaling the commencement of scheduled flights slated for mid-4Q23. The aircraft, which recently arrived from Hyderabad International on October 9, has undergone modifications, now featuring an exclusive 44-seat configuration.

Previously operated by SundAir (SR) and boasting a remarkable 19.83 years of service, the Airbus A319-100 is strategically positioned to cater to the premium leisure segment, specifically targeting travelers seeking overwater bungalows in Malé without the typical transit stopovers. BeOnd’s focus is on offering a seamless travel experience for the discerning clientele.

BeOnd’s inaugural routes are set to kick off in November, with twice-weekly roundtrips connecting Malé to Riyadh starting on November 16. Subsequent routes include twice-weekly roundtrips to Zurich commencing on November 17 and Malé to Munich starting on November 19. These routes are poised to provide convenient options for travelers seeking a direct and luxurious journey.

During the apron ceremony marking the arrival of 8Q-FBA, BeOnd’s CEO, Tero Taskila, outlined the airline’s ambitious plans for expansion. The carrier is eyeing future routes to Milan Malpensa and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, with additional services to Shanghai Pudong and Beijing in the pipeline. To bolster its fleet, BeOnd is set to introduce an A321-200 over the IATA 2023/24 winter season, further enhancing its capabilities.

The operating lease for 8Q-FBA is managed by BBAM on behalf of owners Horizon Aircraft Finance, as indicated by the ch-aviation fleets ownership module. BeOnd’s strategic moves reflect its commitment to providing premium travel options and expanding its footprint in the competitive aviation landscape.
