Marseille is full of places to enjoy an aperitif, and when it comes to cocktails, our barmen take it to heart and offer you the best. Let’s discover these great spots that make you want to go out!

New places to try out

As you explore the rich history of Marseille, you can also enjoy some of our newer cocktail bars and restaurants.  Start with Beer’Ocratie on Boulevard Chave. Founded in 2021, La Beer’Ocratie is one of Marseille’s up-and-coming brasseries.  It offers a modern interior as well as a cozy heated terrace and innovative cocktails or mocktails. We love the Mlle Ginger!   Back up at the Cours Julien, you’ll find Soifferie, a must-see terrace in Notre-Dame du Mont. The bar has only been open for a few months, but the locals are flocking there. In addition to its robust cocktail menu, the bar also hosts events like DJ sets and night markets. Whether you want a nightcap or a night out, Soifferie offers something for everyone. Finally, we recommend Bisette on André Poggioli street. The sister-bar of O Fanette, Bisette is the ideal venue for tapas, cocktails, and dancing. Bisette’s space is perfect for a date and small bite but it also hosts parties and events monthly.

The essentials

Who hasn’t dreamt of drinking a cocktail with a view of the Old Port from the Dantes, at the Sofitel hotel? At sunset, with a background of lounge music and chic atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a date with friends! In the 7th arrondissement, go to Gaspard’s, the place to be for an after-work drink, just down the boulevard de la Corderie. Great for people watching and a few times a month they organize parties in collaboration with local restaurateurs to accompany your cocktails with great food! In the 6th arrondissement, Le Directoire and CopperBay. Le Directoire on rue Edmond Rostand, in the heart of the Antiquity district, offers original cocktails, great cheese, and charcuterie boards in the evening. At Copper Bay on rue Fort Notre-Dame, in a Mediterranean setting, enjoy drinks made with fresh juice by seasoned bartenders! The Carry Nation, like any good ‘speakeasy’, keeps its address a secret until you have made a reservation. Visit this Marseille staple to plunge into the days of prohibition!

The city’s gems

Away from the city center, Parpaing Qui Flotte, a bar in the Chave district, offers affordable cocktails and great tapas. Don’t forget to make a reservation as it has been so successful good luck getting a seat! A little further along the Réformés, Apotek Bar, a small bar with great cocktails! The atmosphere is chic but still friendly, definitely a must-see bar. On the Castellane side, you’ll find the Ebenisterie, with its patio for an aperitif even in winter, its well-decorated room, its delicious cocktails and even its plates to share which will delight your taste buds! Back to the Old Port, with the Shamrock’s Side, it is nestled in the heart of the Irish pub The Shamrock and the cozy and lounge atmosphere after work to have a great cocktail with a great food menu that will please everyone!
