Bikini Jet, based at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, has officially retired its only Bombardier Global 5000, as reported by ch-aviation research. The aircraft, now registered in San Marino, has been transitioned to a newly established UAE company, Mapa Aviation DWC LLC, marking a significant shift in its operational status.

The 14.3-year-old Global 5000, identified as T7-MJA (msn 9408), completed its final flight under its previous registration, TC-MJA, on September 16, 2024. This last journey connected Dalaman and Istanbul Atatürk, two airports that the aircraft frequently serviced. Shortly after its retirement from Bikini Jet, on October 27, 2024, the Global 5000 embarked on its inaugural flight under Sammarinese registration, landing at Dubai International Airport, now operating for Mapa Aviation DWC LLC, as indicated by Eurocontrol’s RVSM data.

Initially delivered to MNG Jet, which later rebranded as Be Aero, the Global 5000 subsequently joined TAV Air. Bikini Jet utilized TAV Air’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to register its operations earlier this year. This transition reflects the dynamic nature of the private aviation sector, where aircraft frequently change hands and operational bases to meet market demands.

Currently, Bikini Jet’s fleet comprises several other aircraft, including a Citation Latitude, a Global Express, and an Embraer Executive Jets Legacy 650. The company specializes in private jet charters, aircraft management, consultancy, aircraft sales, acquisitions, and brokering services. This diversified portfolio positions Bikini Jet as a key player in the private aviation market in Türkiye, catering to a wide range of client needs.

The establishment of Mapa Aviation DWC LLC in the UAE in August 2024 marks a strategic expansion for the retired Global 5000. According to the UAE’s National Economic Registry (NER), Mapa Aviation is set to engage in passenger charter flights. However, it is important to note that the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) currently lists Mapa Aviation as not being an approved air operator. This situation may impact the operational capabilities of the newly formed company as it seeks to establish itself in the competitive aviation landscape.

The retirement of Bikini Jet’s Global 5000 highlights the ongoing evolution within the private jet market, where operators continually adapt their fleets to better serve their clientele. With a focus on delivering premium services, Bikini Jet remains committed to offering exceptional private jet charter experiences, despite the departure of its flagship Global 5000.

As the private aviation sector continues to grow in Türkiye and the broader region, companies like Bikini Jet and Mapa Aviation are poised to capitalize on the increasing demand for luxury travel. With a strong emphasis on quality service and diverse offerings, these operators aim to attract business and leisure travelers looking for reliable and efficient air transportation.

In summary, the retirement of Bikini Jet’s only Global 5000 marks a significant moment for the company, allowing it to streamline its fleet while opening new avenues for collaboration with Mapa Aviation. As both entities navigate the changing aviation landscape, they remain focused on providing top-tier service to their clientele, ensuring they stay competitive in the evolving market.
