Blackstone’s Motel 6 could go back on block

The real estate unit of Blackstone reportedly is considering the sale of Motel 6 that could value the budget chain’s holding company at upwards of $1 billion. Blackstone acquired G6 Hospitality, which owns both Motel 6 and Studio 6, from the French firm Accor in a $1.9 billion deal in 2012, and Blackstone has since sold much of that real estate.
