BlueBird Nordic adds to its flock with another 737-800 freighter

Icelandic cargo airline Bluebird Nordic has taken delivery of its fourth B737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) as it continues its fleet expansion plans.

Bluebird Nordic said that its fleet expansion was in response to “growing air cargo transportation demand that has skyrocketed over the past couple of years”.

The airline’s third B737-800BCF was delivered in August.

The carrier will add four more aircraft in the coming months.

“We are excited to continue expanding our fleet with converted B737-800,” said Audrone Keinyte, chief executive of Bluebird Nordic.

“The new aircraft have already proven to be great additions, ensuring reliable operations – with impressive range and payload for an aircraft of this size.

“In the upcoming months, we plan to receive four more aircraft, which will take us to eight -800s in our fleet, in addition to our B737 classic fleet.”

Last year the company began its expansion by renewing its cargo fleet and adding Boeing 737-800 freighters.

According to its website, Bluebird Nordic operates a fleet of one B737-300, seven B737-400 freighters.
