Boardwalk hotel tower idea sparks mayor’s race N.J.

Both Mayor Jay Gillian and his re-election opponent, Councilman Keith Hartzell, proclaim strong opposition to opening the Boardwalk in Ocean City, N.J., to high-rise hotels. Hartzell says he has been approached four times by Boardwalk property owners seeking to build high-rise lodging, now prohibited by law.
