Boeing and Aircraft Lease Corporation agreed to an order of two Boeing 787-9s

Boeing and Aircraft Leasing Corporation (ALC) have recently inked a significant deal, set to expand the lessor’s fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft by two units. ALC initially placed an order for the 787-9 in 2010, building an aircraft portfolio that includes both 787-9 and 787-10 models. Notably, they had not ventured into acquiring the smallest variant, the 787-8.

Stan Deal, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), expressed his satisfaction with ALC’s continued recognition of the value offered by the 787 family for its customers, emphasizing the partnership’s strategic importance.

As per ch-aviation.com data, ALC currently possesses 30 Boeing 787 aircraft, comprising 24 787-9s and six 787-10s. Additionally, they manage one more 787-8 and four 787-9 twin-aisle jets. It’s noteworthy that the Boeing 787-8, registered as F-OLRC, belongs to Blackbird Capital and is currently in operation with Air Austral.

Stan Deal praised the unmatched fuel efficiency of the 787 Dreamliner family, highlighting its role in pioneering new routes in the long-haul travel market while simultaneously reducing fuel consumption and emissions, thereby assisting airlines in achieving their sustainability goals.

The agreement between ALC and Boeing was finalized during the prestigious Paris Air Show 2023. Boeing reported a record-high demand for the 787 family, with over 250 orders and commitments by airlines since the start of 2023. Notably, during the same event, Boeing also announced an order for eight 787-9s from China Airlines, with the Taiwan-based carrier solidifying a previous agreement with the manufacturer.
