Boeing has announced that its orders have fallen by nearly two thirds as the US aircraft manufacturer revealed a US$641 million loss for the first quarter of 2020.

The company has had to endure a year of having it’s 737 MAX aircraft grounded, which has resulted in the company suspending production of the aircraft.

Deliveries of Boeing aircraft have fallen significantly year on year, the first three months of 2020, the manufacturer delivered just 50 aircraft, which is down from 149 from 2019’s figure.

The majority of aircraft that were delivered were 787 Dreamliners, with only five 737 NGs. In 2019 Boeing delivered 89 737s in the same period

Additionally, ten 767s and six 777s were delivered. Boeing had hoped to begin testing the 777Xs this summer, but this has now been delayed until next year.
