Boeing delivered 45 aircraft in January, marking its busiest month since 2019 and a significant jump from 30 deliveries in December. The U.S. planemaker handed over 40 737 MAX jets, up from 25 a year earlier, despite recent scrutiny following an Alaska Air 737 MAX 9 incident.

Key deliveries included seven 737 MAX jets to United Airlines, five to Southwest Airlines, and several to Chinese carriers like Shenzhen Airlines, 9 Air, and Xiamen Airlines. Additionally, Boeing delivered four 787 Dreamliners, including the first for TAAG Angola, and one 777 freighter to Ethiopian Airlines.

Boeing reported 36 new orders in January—34 for the 737 MAX and two for 777 freighters—up from 27 a year ago. Adjusted figures showed a net gain of 42 orders, including seven 787 Dreamliners.

Aircraft deliveries are critical for Boeing’s financial performance, as the bulk of payments are received upon delivery. The company is working to stabilize production following last year’s strike, which disrupted operations for seven weeks.

Despite growing interest in emerging markets, a Boeing executive indicated that India’s current demand doesn’t yet warrant establishing a final assembly line there.

The January figures reflect Boeing’s ongoing recovery and the steady demand for its MAX and Dreamliner models, even as regulatory challenges persist.
