Bombardier Defense Delivers Sixth Global 6000 Jet to Saab for Swedish Air Force’s Next-Gen GlobalEye Program

In a significant development, Bombardier Defense has successfully delivered its sixth Global 6000 jet to Swedish defense supplier Saab, marking a crucial step towards the aircraft’s transformation into an ultra-high-tech military plane.

The cutting-edge Bombardier Global 6000 is set to become an integral part of the Swedish Air Force’s Airborne Early Warning and Control system, known as GlobalEye. As part of the GlobalEye program, Bombardier has confirmed that the Global 6000 aircraft will be equipped with Saab’s renowned radar, command, control, and communication systems.

Jean-Christopher Gallagher, the Executive Vice-President of Aircraft Sales and Bombardier Defense, expressed his pride in the company’s collaboration with Saab, stating that their jets have gained international recognition as modern, go-to platforms for leading defense contractors worldwide. The Global aircraft family is highly regarded as the ideal solution for multi-mission, surveillance, and VIP transport, consistently meeting the most demanding mission requirements of customers.

This latest addition to the Swedish Air Force fleet further exemplifies Bombardier’s extensive experience in adapting its platforms to cater to the unique needs of various military services. Their successful partnership with Saab reflects their commitment to creating next-generation defense solutions across the globe.

In May 2023, Bombardier Defense and General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada jointly proposed themselves as the most capable entities to deliver Canada’s Multi-Mission Aircraft (CMMA) program. The foundation for their CMMA solution lies in Bombardier’s state-of-the-art Global 6500 aircraft. The Global 6500, an agile and highly efficient jet, boasts next-generation engines, long-range capabilities, high endurance, and superior fuel efficiency, making it the perfect fit for the CMMA program.
