Bombardier Global 7500 Sets Montreal–Paris Speed Record

Bombardier’s Global 7500 business jet has set a new speed record for nonstop travel between Montreal and Paris, completing the transatlantic journey in just five hours and 30 minutes. The long-range jet reached speeds exceeding 1,000 kilometers per hour (about 621 mph), significantly outperforming the typical seven-hour commercial flight on the same route.

The Canadian aircraft manufacturer highlighted that the record was achieved under normal operating conditions, with passengers, luggage, and cargo onboard. “The Global 7500 performs at the highest levels across the board, in real-world situations,” said Bombardier President and CEO Éric Martel. “We take pride in meaningful speed records like this latest one.”

The Global 7500 also recently reclaimed the speed record for the reverse route—from Paris to Montreal—and still holds the title for the longest nonstop flight by a purpose-built business jet, a feat it achieved on a Sydney-to-Detroit journey.

With a maximum range of 7,700 nautical miles, the Global 7500 offers high performance and unmatched cabin luxury. Its interior features four distinct living spaces, a full-size kitchen, ergonomic seating, and oversized windows.

Bombardier is also preparing to launch its next-generation aircraft, the Global 8000. Currently in final assembly, the Global 8000 will boast a top speed of Mach 0.94 and a maximum range of 8,000 nautical miles, making it the fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde. It is expected to enter service later this year, further cementing Bombardier’s position as a leader in long-range business aviation.
