Brazil’s Levu Air Cargo to Resume Flights with A321 Freighter

Levu Air Cargo is preparing to restart operations following a six-month suspension. The Brazilian carrier’s sole aircraft, an Airbus A321-200(PCF) registered PS-LVU (msn 775), is undergoing maintenance and is expected to return to service soon, according to General Director Lucas Menero.

The freighter had been grounded at Manaus International Airport since December 5, 2024. It was recently ferried to São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International on May 10, 2025, where it remains parked with no confirmed date for reactivation, according to Flightradar24 data.

Levu Air Cargo launched operations in November 2024, shortly after receiving its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from Brazil’s civil aviation authority ANAC. The airline began freight services in partnership with DHL but halted operations in December after a final flight from Recife to Manaus.

Menero also confirmed the airline’s intention to expand its fleet, although details on the next aircraft type remain undisclosed. Levu previously stated plans to add another A321-200(PCF) and acquire two Airbus A330-300(P2F) aircraft to support potential Brazil–U.S. cargo routes. However, those expansion efforts have stalled due to the extended downtime of its only aircraft.

Despite the delay, the upcoming return of PS-LVU signals Levu Air Cargo’s commitment to re-establishing its presence in Brazil’s growing air cargo market. The airline’s next steps will depend on the successful resumption of operations and the realization of its fleet growth strategy.
