Breeze Airways Expands Network with New Routes in Memphis, Albany, and Rochester

Breeze Airways, a rapidly growing U.S. carrier, is expanding its footprint with the introduction of new services from Memphis International Airport (MEM), Albany (NY) International Airport, and Rochester (NY) International Airport in May and June 2025. This follows the airline’s addition of 29 new airports to its network in 2024. Breeze is set to operate at around 70 airports and offer approximately 220 domestic nonstop routes, with 87% of those routes being non-competitive.
New Routes from Memphis, Albany, and Rochester
Breeze will begin service from Memphis on May 7, with 2X-weekly flights to Tampa (FL). The following week, starting May 9, the airline will add another 2X-weekly route from MEM to Raleigh-Durham (RDU) in North Carolina.
In Albany, Breeze will launch 2X-weekly service to RDU on June 5, followed by 2X-weekly flights between Albany and Charleston International Airport (CHS) in South Carolina on June 13. Rochester will also see new flights starting May 8, with 2X-weekly service to Charleston and RDU starting the following day.
These new routes will be flown using Airbus A220 aircraft, which are configured to carry 137 passengers. Breeze took delivery of 13 A220s in 2024, increasing its fleet to 33 by the end of the year. The airline also operates 10 Embraer 190s and three E195s, used for charter flights and to supplement the A220 fleet when needed.
Additional Routes and New Connections
Alongside these new services, Breeze is also launching several routes connecting existing markets within its network. Notably, it will begin service between Akron-Canton (Ohio) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on May 22, and start 4X-weekly service between Orlando (FL) and RDU on May 9.
The airline will also offer seasonal summer services connecting smaller markets. Starting May 1, Breeze will operate 2X-weekly flights between Fort Myers (FL) and Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) in South Carolina. On May 2, the airline will begin 2X-weekly seasonal flights between Columbus (OH) and Portland (ME).
Additional seasonal routes launching in May include Burlington (VT) to Charleston, GSP to Portland and Westchester (NY), and Westchester to Pittsburgh. Starting April 30, Breeze will also offer 2X-weekly summer flights between RDU and Pensacola (FL).
Strategic Focus on Smaller Markets
While Breeze continues to serve major airports like LAX, the airline’s focus remains on secondary markets that are currently underserved. Lukas Johnson, Breeze’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized that the airline’s network strategy revolves around finding unserved routes rather than targeting airports of specific sizes. David Neeleman, CEO of Breeze, added that the airline sees significant demand and opportunity in secondary markets across the U.S., allowing it to tap into underserved routes and offer travelers more options.
Strong Growth and Financial Performance
Breeze Airways continues to experience strong growth, with the airline reporting $680 million in revenue for 2024, a 78% increase from the previous year. The airline achieved a first-quarter operating profit of 4%, marking a major milestone in its financial performance.
As Breeze Airways expands its network and increases its fleet, its focus on providing affordable, convenient options for travelers in underserved markets is positioning the airline for continued success in the competitive U.S. airline industry.
