Breeze Airways to Launch First International Routes in 2026

reeze Airways has announced plans to launch its first international flights in 2026, marking a major milestone for the U.S. low-cost carrier founded by aviation entrepreneur David Neeleman. The expansion will connect several mid-sized U.S. cities to popular leisure destinations in Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic, furthering Breeze’s mission to serve underserved markets with affordable, nonstop service.
The airline will debut its international network with Saturday-only flights from Norfolk, Virginia, and Charleston, South Carolina, to Cancún, Mexico, one of the most in-demand vacation spots in the Caribbean. The initial launch will be followed by additional routes linking six U.S. airports to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Montego Bay, Jamaica, giving travelers convenient access to tropical getaways without major hub connections.
Breeze Airways, which received U.S. flag carrier status earlier this year, will operate the new routes using its modern fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Known for their fuel efficiency and passenger comfort, the A220s feature 2×3 seating, extra legroom options, and Breeze’s signature “Nice” and “Nicest” fare bundles, designed to offer flexibility and value.
The move into international service represents the next stage in Breeze’s rapid growth since its launch in 2021. The airline has built a strong domestic network of more than 50 routes focused on point-to-point connections that bypass congested hub airports.
Founder and CEO David Neeleman said the new Caribbean routes reflect strong customer demand for affordable leisure travel and mark the airline’s first step toward a broader international presence.
With its entry into the Caribbean market, Breeze aims to blend its low-fare model with a high-quality passenger experience, offering Americans a more convenient and enjoyable way to reach their favorite sun destinations starting in 2026.
