Bristow Group has officially begun flight operations of Beta Technologies’ all-electric ALIA CX300 aircraft at Stavanger Airport, marking the start of Norway’s Test Arena for Zero Low Emission Aviation. The program represents a significant step toward advancing sustainable aviation and testing the integration of electric aircraft into Norway’s transportation system.

Conducted in partnership with Avinor and the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway, the six-month initiative will focus on evaluating advanced air mobility operations. Early test flights will connect Stavanger and Bergen, two key cities on Norway’s western coast, to demonstrate the viability of electric aircraft for regional travel.

The ALIA CX300 is designed for efficiency and sustainability, featuring an all-electric propulsion system that produces zero in-flight emissions. Its performance profile includes a range suitable for short-haul regional routes, making it a strong candidate for future commercial deployment in countries prioritizing green aviation.

Norway has emerged as a global leader in electrification efforts across multiple transportation sectors, including aviation. By launching this test program, the nation aims to accelerate the adoption of low- and zero-emission aircraft while building the regulatory and operational frameworks needed for wider use.

Bristow Group emphasized that the project will provide valuable data on safety, efficiency, and infrastructure requirements for electric aviation. The lessons learned will inform both national policy and international best practices, supporting the global shift toward sustainable air travel.

The launch of ALIA CX300 operations in Norway underscores how innovative partnerships are driving the future of zero-emission aviation.
