British Airways (BA) has revealed plans to significantly increase its flight frequency between San Diego International Airport (SAN) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR). Starting April 20, 2024, the airline will double the daily flights on this route, meeting the growing demand for travel between San Diego and Europe. This expansion aims to accommodate the city’s increasing popularity as a travel destination.

BA will introduce a second daily flight, operating as BA265 and BA264. The new service will arrive in San Diego at 3:25 PM and depart for London at 5:15 PM. The aircraft assigned to this route will be a Boeing 777-200 with a seating capacity of 272 passengers.

The existing daily flight, BA273 and BA272, will undergo a rescheduling. It will arrive in San Diego from London at 6:10 PM and depart for London at 8:00 PM. This flight will be served by a Boeing 787-8 aircraft accommodating 214 passengers.

Kimberly Becker, President, and CEO of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, highlighted the advantages of this expansion for travelers from both sides of the Atlantic. She emphasized that this move would provide more opportunities for leisure and business travelers, connecting San Diego’s sunny climate and attractions with London and beyond.

This increased frequency of British Airways flights between London Heathrow and San Diego International Airport is expected to enhance accessibility, promoting travel and tourism between the two cities.
