Buddhavanam theme park debuts in Telangana, India

An inauguration ceremony Saturday marked the opening of a Buddhist heritage theme park called Buddhavanam in Telangana, India. The theme park is built on a 274-acre plot of land and consists of eight zones and several thematic segments showcasing major events from Gautama Buddha’s life, including a Meditation Park, a Bodhisattva Park, a Buddhist art and craft village, a convention center, hotels and resorts, wellness centers, Buddhist education centers and a Maha Stupa replica with sculptural embellishments.
