Bulgaria’s GullivAir revives scheduled ops plans
GullivAir (G2, Sofia) has been granted traffic rights to operate 2x weekly between Sofia and Cairo Int’l, indicating its renewed willingness to enter the scheduled market.
The Bulgarian carrier has not provided any details regarding its planned launch of the route and did not respond to ch-aviation’s request for comment.
GullivAir has occasionally been pondering launching scheduled flights since at least early 2021 but these plans have so far not materialised. It currently operates three A330-200s and one ATR72-600 exclusively on charter and ACMI flights. It has a further two ATR72-600s in maintenance and yet to be inducted into revenue services.
Besides GullivAir, Bulgaria Air was also awarded rights to operate 2x weekly to Cairo.
