Cambria Hotels Expands Presence with New Openings in Prime Locations Across the U.S.

Choice Hotels International, Inc., a major player in the upscale hotel segment, continues its expansion with the recent opening of two Cambria Hotels in sought-after U.S. destinations and the commencement of two more. The new properties in Austin, Texas, and Lake Placid, New York, are part of a growing collection of over 60 Cambria Hotels nationwide, enhancing Choice Hotels’ upscale portfolio which includes brands like Radisson Blu and the Ascend Hotel Collection.

The company’s commitment to upscale expansion is bolstered by the appointment of Indy Adenaw as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Upscale Brands. Adenaw, an experienced hospitality industry leader, is joined by a strong team, including Alexandra Coleman, Vice President of Upscale Brand Management, and Patrick Curran, Director of Food & Beverage. They are supported by Mark Shalala, Senior Vice President of Upscale Development, and Marissa Ballan, newly appointed Head of Development for the Radisson Blu brand.

Adenaw is optimistic about the future of Choice Hotels’ upscale segment, citing the opening of world-class hotels, advancements in franchisee technology platforms, and enhancements to the Choice Privileges loyalty program. These efforts are part of a strategic approach to grow the performance of hotels across this segment.

The Cambria Hotels portfolio has grown by 14% this year, including the recent openings:

  1. Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown: This modern, 15-story, 212-room hotel is situated in downtown Austin, close to key attractions like Rainey Street Historic District and the Austin Convention Center. It’s part of a trio of Cambria properties in Austin, reflecting the city’s diverse culture.
  2. Cambria Hotel Lake Placid – Lakeside Resort: Nestled in the scenic Adirondack Mountains, this lakeside resort offers 185 rooms with stunning views and modern amenities, close to popular attractions like the Lake Placid Olympic Center.

In addition to these openings, Cambria Hotels broke ground on two properties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, set to open in Summer 2025, further solidifying Cambria Hotels’ presence in Texas.

Cambria Hotels has been recognized for its quality, receiving accolades such as the top upscale brand in the J.D. Power 2023 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study. This expansion signals Choice Hotels’ ambition to become a more formidable competitor in the upscale hotel segment.
