Canada’s Jetlines takes first A320-200
Jetlines has delivery of its first A320-200 in the form of C-GCJL (msn 4175). The 12.1-year-old jet was registered in Canada on February 3 and ferried to Kitchener (via Gander) after maintenance at Shannon on February 26, 2022.
The Canadian charter start-up plans to launch in March 2022, albeit initially as a virtual carrier chartering an A320 from partner airline and former parent company GLOBALX (GXA, Miami Int’l). As it does so, it plans to use its first in-house A320-200 to complete its air operator’s certificate drive with Transport Canada.
Jetlines plans to increase its in-house fleet to fifteen A320s by mid-2025.
