Canada’s OWG plots international growth
Quebec-based OWG (Montréal Trudeau) has been granted licenses to operate large gauge scheduled international services between Canada and the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica, and the United States.
This is according to four separate regulatory notices published by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) on July 23, 2021.
The CTA on July 8, 2020, already granted OWG – a subsidiary of Nolinor Aviation (N5, Montréal Trudeau) – permission to operate international schedules to Cuba.
OWG president Marco Prud’Homme told Pax Editions the carrier would announce its planned services for each of the destinations in due course.
OWG (which stands for “Off We Go”) currently has two B737-400s in operation, with a third of the type to be delivered in December, Prud’Homme said.
As previously reported, launched its first weekly international schedule from Toronto Pearson to Santa Clara de Cuba in Cuba on December 18, 2020, on behalf of the Hola Sun Holidays tour operator, using one of its two B737-400s, C-GGWX (msn 24804). The second B737-400, C-GGWV (msn 24688), was inducted in mid-December for domestic charters in Canada. Both aircraft are owned by parent Nolinor Aviation, according to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module.
