Capital One Landing Opens at DCA Lounge with Tapas and Cocktails

Capital One has unveiled a new airport concept designed to redefine the traditional lounge experience. Located at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), Capital One Landing opened on November 19, offering a unique dining-forward space instead of a typical lounge. Created in collaboration with renowned chef José Andrés, the venue blends Spanish-style tapas, craft cocktails, and an interactive dining experience, catering to travelers with limited layover time but seeking elevated food offerings.

A New Kind of Airport Experience
Capital One Landing departs from the traditional airport lounge model by focusing on dining and comfort. Unlike most lounges, this 5,500-square-foot space is designed like a high-end café or trendy eatery, offering 90 seats in a stylish and warm setting. The space features a warm color palette, comfy leather chairs, and décor inspired by both local and Spanish artists. Guests can enjoy views of the airport concourse or the exterior while relaxing in an environment that feels more like a cozy café than an airport lounge.

Travelers can find power outlets, bag hooks, and luggage nooks at every seat. The space lacks amenities like sleep pods or showers but includes free high-speed internet for travelers who need to catch up on work or relax with a drink.

Exquisite Dining by José Andrés
In a first for Andrés, the James Beard Award-winning chef has partnered with Capital One to bring a tapas-centric menu to the airport. The venue offers a cold tapas bar where guests can help themselves to snacks like gazpacho, Spanish olives, and Basque cheesecake, or order from a QR code to receive hot dishes like gambas al ajillo (red shrimp confited with olive oil and garlic) and carne asada con mojo verde (grilled hanger steak with mojo verde). Breakfast options include pincho de tortilla (Spanish omelet) and olive oil pancakes.

Andrés’ signature interactive carts will also roam the space, offering treats like caviar-filled ice cream cones and fruit-topped cheesecakes. The grab-and-go tapas are perfect for travelers with limited time, while those who have more time can enjoy full meals in a relaxed setting.

Craft Cocktails and Spanish Beverages
Capital One Landing features eight prebatched cocktails on tap, including unique options like the Continental Sour (a whiskey sour with Spanish tempranillo) and Ben Franklin’s Milk Punch (made with Torres 20 brandy and nutmeg). There’s also a selection of Spanish wines and beers, as well as mocktails and coffee-based drinks for those looking for non-alcoholic options.

How to Access the Capital One Landing
Capital One Landing is open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and located in Terminal 2, near Concourse D. Access is available to those with a Venture X or Venture X Business card, who can bring one guest for free and make reservations through the Capital One app. Those without the premium cards can enter for a fee of $45 per visit, with the option to bring guests for an additional charge. Non-cardholders can access the space for $90 per visit.

In addition to the Landing, travelers can also enjoy On the Fly, a separate fast-casual dining space offering breakfast items and light snacks, open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Future Capital One Locations
Capital One plans to expand its airport offerings with another Capital One Landing at LaGuardia Airport in New York and additional standard lounges in Las Vegas’ Harry Reid International and John F. Kennedy International airports.

Capital One Landing at DCA sets a new standard for airport dining, combining convenience, premium food options, and an inviting atmosphere for travelers looking to elevate their preflight experience.
