Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador Comments on Price Increases
Carnival cruise line has raised the prices on incidentals.
And it’s not going unnoticed by passengers.
The cost of Wi-fi and bottled water, which is always a luxury on cruise ships, has gone up. The cost of a 12-pack of bottled water has doubled since last November.
The cruise line is defending its increases.
Carnival Cruise Line Brand Ambassador John Heald said: “…Yeah, prices did go up a bit recently with our bottled water because of inflation which I know many of you are facing on land as well. The price of a 12-pack of Crystal water is $9.95. That works out to 0.83 cents a bottle. Still not too bad. I do not know what water prices are where you live, but when I fly and travel through airports, I head to the shops to buy bottled water and don’t even flinch when the checkout lady asks me for $3.99 or $5.00 if I want my water to come from a volcanic spring in Cleveland, Ohio.”
Carnival appears to be just keeping up with the times.
According to Statista, the rate of inflation in the United States has gone up from 3.2 percent to 8.3 percent in the last 11 years.
If anything, Carnival might be behind the times when it comes to raising prices. But the suddenness of it all seems to have caught passengers off-card.
