Carnival Cruise Line Hosts Unique Auction for Custom Cowboy Boots to Benefit Military Families
Carnival Cruise Line has initiated a distinctive fundraising effort by auctioning a pair of custom-designed cowboy boots, with proceeds aimed at supporting military families through Operation Homefront. This national nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing comprehensive aid to U.S. military service members and their families, offering services from transitional housing to financial assistance for essential needs.
The one-of-a-kind boots, adorned in the patriotic colors of red, white, and blue, will be crafted for the individual who makes the highest donation to Operation Homefront. To make the offer even more enticing, if the winning bid exceeds $10,000, Carnival will include a 7-day cruise in a balcony stateroom aboard the Carnival Jubilee as part of the package.
This initiative echoes the personal style of Carnival’s President, Christine Duffy, who donned a similar pair of boots during the welcoming of guests onboard the Carnival Jubilee in Galveston last December. The boots, designed by Carnival’s own Petu Kummala and handcrafted by the Houston-based Parker Boot Company, are a symbol of Carnival’s deep roots in Texas and its commitment to the military community. Duffy’s boots will be displayed on the Carnival Jubilee, paying homage to its Texas homeport and the cruise line’s dedication to veterans and military families.
Christine Duffy commented on the auction, emphasizing the dual significance of the campaign: celebrating the launch of the Carnival Jubilee and supporting a cause close to the heart of the Carnival family. “These cowboy boots are an ultimate piece of Carnival regalia, and such a fun way to celebrate the arrival of our new Carnival Jubilee,” Duffy stated. “Even more special, though, is the opportunity for someone to have the only other pair that will ever be made—and for a cause we’re all passionate about here at Carnival.”
Interested donors can participate in the auction by sending their bid to the designated email address provided by Carnival, along with their contact information and, if applicable, their VIFP number. As the auction progresses, with bids already surpassing expectations, Carnival Cruise Line demonstrates its ongoing commitment to the welfare of military families and its pride in being a preferred choice among veterans and their loved ones for their cruising adventures.
The auction, which concludes on February 20, is not only a testament to Carnival’s innovative approach to philanthropy but also highlights the cruise line’s dedication to creating memorable experiences for its guests while contributing to meaningful causes. The winner will be announced during the official naming ceremony of the Carnival Jubilee, marking another milestone in Carnival’s support for military families.
