Carnival Cruise Line has announced exciting new additions to its 2026-27 cruise seasons, featuring sailings from both the East and West coasts of the United States. The updates include enhanced itineraries and the introduction of new homeports, providing travelers with more options for their cruising adventures.
Carnival Luminosa is set to make waves in San Francisco, where it will operate cruises to Alaska from April 27 through September 10, 2026. This ship will offer 10-day voyages to the Last Frontier, making stops at popular destinations such as Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Prince Rupert. Guests will also enjoy breathtaking scenic sailings through Tracy Arm Fjord. This marks a robust addition to Carnival’s 2026 Alaska season, which also features the Carnival Miracle and Carnival Spirit departing from Seattle.
In addition to its Alaskan voyages, Carnival Luminosa will provide 4-day weekend cruises to Baja California, Mexico, from April 23 to August 27, 2026. Following the summer season, the ship will embark on an 18-day exploration of Alaska and Japan, making it a versatile choice for travelers looking to explore diverse destinations.
Meanwhile, Carnival Horizon will call Miami home from summer 2026 through spring 2027, offering 6-day Western Caribbean itineraries and 8-day Southern Caribbean cruises. This provides guests with a chance to experience the vibrant cultures and stunning beaches of the Caribbean.
Carnival Vista will be stationed in Port Canaveral, offering 6-day cruises that include stops at Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay. The vessel will also feature 8-day voyages to popular destinations such as St. Thomas, St. Maarten, San Juan, and Aruba, making it an attractive option for sun-seekers.
For those looking to sail from Norfolk, Virginia, the Carnival Sunshine will offer 4- to 7-day cruises to Bermuda, as well as 5- to 7-day trips to the Bahamas. Additionally, the ship will provide 8-day voyages to the Eastern Caribbean and Canada, broadening its appeal to East Coast travelers.
As Carnival prepares to reposition its fleet to new seasonal homeports, it will also introduce extended “Carnival Journeys” itineraries. These longer sailings will include a transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Miami on Carnival Horizon and Carnival Luminosa’s transpacific voyages from Brisbane to San Francisco, stopping at exotic locations such as Fiji, Tahiti, and Hawaii. Additionally, a journey from San Francisco to Yokohama (Tokyo) will feature stops in Alaska and Japan, offering guests a unique blend of experiences.
“In addition to extending our successful deployment schedules in Miami, Port Canaveral, and Norfolk, Carnival Luminosa will bring a new experience to our seasonal homeport of San Francisco for the 2026 Alaska season,” said Fred Stein, Vice President of Deployment for Carnival Cruise Line.
Stein emphasized that these new sailings not only enhance the variety of itineraries but also introduce exciting opportunities for travelers seeking memorable cruising experiences. With these latest offerings, Carnival Cruise Line continues to solidify its position as a leader in the cruise industry, catering to diverse traveler preferences across the globe.
