Carnival Cruise Line Unveils Name for Upcoming Bahamas Port
Carnival Cruise Line announced the name of its new destination in the Bahamas is Celebration Key.
The name of the highly-anticipated exclusive cruise port destination on Grand Bahama was revealed during a ceremony that featured guests, employees, travel advisors and Bahamian government officials.
“We are working very closely with the Government of The Bahamas and the Grand Bahama Port Authority to ensure that we are highlighting the best of Grand Bahama and its culture, combined with fun like only Carnival can provide,” Carnival President Christine Duffy said.
Celebration Key is the first port destination exclusively designed for Carnival passengers, with an eventual capability of welcoming two million guests each year. The property’s name was chosen as a celebration of all that Carnival and The Bahamas have to offer for a memorable vacation.
Carnival’s island destination will offer a uniquely Bahamian experience with abundant features and amenities, including a one-mile stretch of white-sand beach and locally operated retail, food and beverage options.
“Invoking the natural beauty of Grand Bahama, every day at Celebration Key will be a celebration of our guests’ own making with a variety of experiences and something for everyone,” Duffy continued.
For better convenience and maximum enjoyment time, the adjacent pier will accommodate up to two of the cruise line’s Excel-class ships simultaneously, allowing travelers to walk off the ship and arrive at Celebration Key.
Carnival revealed it would announce further details and open for sale the first itineraries on at least ten ships from multiple homeports that will include a visit to the private destination in late September.
The first vessels to call on the destination are scheduled to arrive in July 2025.
Last week, the cruise line revealed more of its 2025-26 itineraries, including those to Alaska and Carnival Journeys, which are the brand’s longer trips.
