Carnival Enhances Loyalty Program for Diamond, Platinum Guests

Carnival Cruise Line has announced updates to its upcoming Carnival Rewards loyalty program, set to debut June 1, 2026, with new benefits designed to reward its most dedicated guests.
Modeled after popular airline and hotel loyalty schemes, Carnival Rewards will allow travelers to earn points through cruising, onboard spending, and a co-branded credit card. Points can then be redeemed toward cruise fares, shore excursions, onboard experiences, and more.
Initially, Carnival said that Diamond-level members in the existing VIFP Club would have their status extended through 2032, while Platinum members would be extended through 2028. The cruise line has now enhanced these benefits: Diamond members will instead receive lifetime Diamond status under the new program. Platinum members will not only retain their status through 2028 but will also receive a bi-annual boost of 10,000 status-qualifying stars—providing a 20% head start toward requalifying in future cycles.
Children under 18 cannot be enrolled due to privacy laws, but minors traveling with Diamond or Platinum members will enjoy the same status benefits during their cruise. Once they turn 18, those with Diamond or Platinum standing by May 31, 2026, will be invited to join Carnival Rewards with the same tier and privileges.
Carnival is also exploring similar opportunities for Canadian and Australian guests, mirroring the U.S. benefits of the Carnival Rewards Mastercard.
“These enhancements reflect the feedback we’ve heard from our most loyal cruisers,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We’re excited to recognize their dedication with lifetime and boosted benefits that elevate the guest experience.”
