Carnival President Christine Duffy Skydives to Raise Funds for Hurricane Relief
Carnival Cruise Line is taking its commitment to Hurricane Helene relief efforts to new heights as President Christine Duffy prepares to skydive on October 19 to raise funds. Duffy aims to raise $50,000 for the Gary Sinise Foundation, which supports first responders and military personnel working to provide relief in areas impacted by the hurricane.
Duffy’s tandem jump will be conducted with the Round Canopy Parachute Team and members of the USSOCOM Para-Commandos, the U.S. Special Operations Command’s premier aerial parachute team. The jump will take place from the historic “Tico Belle,” a C-47 aircraft used during the D-Day landings in Normandy, France, in 1944.
The skydive will coincide with the departure of Carnival Paradise from Tampa on a cruise chartered by the Special Forces Legacy Initiatives. The five-day cruise to the Bahamas will bring together Special Forces alumni, their families, Gold Star families, and friends for a unique reunion, including Green Berets who have served from the Korean War to the present.
“I’ve never jumped from a plane before, but this is a cause worth $50,000 to support the Gary Sinise Foundation’s relief efforts for Hurricane Helene,” Duffy said. “Carnival is proud to be America’s Cruise Line, and this skydive is one more way to show our support for military and first responders.”
Carnival Cruise Line continues to be a favorite for active-duty military and veterans, demonstrating its dedication through both action and support.
