Carrousel Travel to Take Grapevine for a Spin

Minneapolis-based travel management company Carrousel Travel is partnering to use AI travel technology supplier Grapevine’s recommendation services, the companies announced.

With the partnership, Carrousel will use Grapevine’s technology to send travelers recommendations for hotels and other ancillary bookings via email, text and WhatsApp once they book a flight or train trip. The service helps increase attachment rates, which means additional revenue for Carrousel and ensures that bookings follow travel policy and are on-platform for clients, according to Grapevine.

Carrousel, which handles both business travel and groups and incentives as well as leisure services, also will adopt a new premium service from Grapevine that includes information about duty of care, sustainability and employee well-being for corporate clients in a single email.

Carrousel is the second U.S.-based TMC to sign with Grapevine, which launched in early 2020 and won both the Business Travel Innovator of the Year at BTN’s 2021 Innovate conference and the 2021 Business Travel Innovation Faceoff at Business Travel Show Europe. Its first U.S.-based client, Charleston, W.V.-based National Travel, signed with Grapevine earlier this year.
