If Hong Kong is on your travel list for 2023, mark your calendar for May 17.

That’s when Cathay Pacific will begin offering a limited number of round-trip tickets to the destination from its US gateways for a seriously discounted rate. According to the carrier’s website, travelers who secure the tickets (which will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis) will only have to pay taxes and surcharges for the airfare.

That’s a serious discount considering that round-trip fares from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to HKG often cost about $2,300, according to The Points Guy. Taxes and surcharges meanwhile, amount to just $350 of that total fare to Hong Kong.

The Cathay Pacific website says each traveler can secure just one round-trip ticket as part of the special promotion.
To access the exclusive offer, travelers must sign-up to become a Cathay member of the airline’s Asia Pacific loyalty program and will then receive an access link for the sale on May 17. Visit the Cathay website here to become a member and obtain the link for the special sale.

The special sale will end on May 23 or last until all tickets are sold, whichever comes first. All taxes, fees and surcharges for the fares must be paid by the traveler. The airline advises those who are interested in snagging a discounted ticket to Hong Kong to be sure and check your email inbox on May 17 at 5 PM PST/ PM EST to receive the link for the sale.

Hong Kong offers many different activities to travelers. From stunning natural features to theme parks, festivals, and more. The destination has been working hard to lure travelers back after the COVID-19 pandemic and easing of related restrictions. That effort has included a number of airfare-related specials targeting international visitors.
