Cathay Pacific Launches Hong Kong–Dallas Service

Cathay Pacific has launched direct flights between Hong Kong and Dallas, adding a critical link to its expanding North America network for summer 2025. The first Airbus A350-1000 departed Hong Kong International Airport on April 24, touching down at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at 17:09 local time after a 13-hour, 47-minute flight covering 8,170 miles. Operating four times weekly in each direction, the new service underscores Cathay Pacific’s strategy to strengthen connectivity between Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and key global markets.

The inaugural flight was marked by a celebration at Hong Kong Airport attended by Cathay Pacific’s Director of Customer Travel, Erica Peng, and Airport Authority Hong Kong’s Executive Director of Airport Operations, Steven Yiu Siu-chung. Their appearance highlighted the importance of Dallas to Cathay Pacific’s growth plans, which call for more than 100 destinations in the first half of 2025 across the Cathay Group—including low-cost carrier HK Express. Dallas is the sixth new passenger destination announced this year by the Group, with nine more routes set to debut by year-end.

Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said the Dallas route would offer customers greater choice and convenience. She noted that passengers flying via Dallas-Fort Worth can connect seamlessly to U.S. domestic cities as well as Central and South American destinations under Cathay Pacific’s network and codeshare agreements. At the same time, travelers from Texas and beyond can now reach Hong Kong non-stop and access Cathay Pacific’s extensive global connections.

Scheduled departures from Hong Kong operate as flight CX876 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, leaving at 16:05 and arriving in Dallas at 17:55. The westbound return flight, CX875, departs Dallas at 22:55 and arrives in Hong Kong at 04:35 two days later, reflecting the time gain when crossing the international date line westbound. Each A350-1000 configured for the route carries 334 passengers in three classes: 46 business class seats, 32 in premium economy and 256 in economy. Cathay Pacific currently operates 18 of the ultra-long-haul jets, with an average fleet age of 5.5 years.

The Dallas launch complements Cathay Cargo’s existing freighter services to the city via Anchorage, bolstering the airline’s position as a leading cargo carrier in North America. During the summer peak, Cathay Cargo will operate nearly 40 weekly freighter return flights between North America and its Hong Kong hub. Cargo capacity on the A350-1000 passenger flights further supports e-commerce and urgent freight flows between continents.

Beyond Dallas, Cathay Pacific’s 2025 expansion includes new non-stop passenger services to Urumqi beginning April 28, Rome from June 5, Munich on June 16 and Brussels on August 3. These additions reinforce Cathay Pacific’s goal of exceeding 100 destinations and delivering seamless travel options across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Cathay Pacific’s new service to Dallas follows EVA Air’s recent announcement of its own Taipei–Dallas flights starting October 3, 2025. With two Asian carriers now serving Texas’s largest metro area, passengers in both regions gain more flexibility, competitive fares and schedule options. For Cathay Pacific, the Hong Kong–Dallas route represents a significant milestone in its summer 2025 network rollout and a testament to the airline’s commitment to connecting global markets through its Hong Kong hub.
