Cathay Pacific Teases Luxurious Aria Business Class Suite for Boeing 777-300ER
Cathay Pacific recently offered a sneak peek into its upcoming Business Class innovation, the Aria suite, set to grace the interiors of the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER planes. This visionary cabin upgrade, named Aria, promises travelers a refined and serene luxury experience within the redesigned confines of Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The eagerly awaited Aria Business Class suites are slated for debut in the second quarter of 2024. However, the airline has kept further specifics about the novel seating arrangement under wraps for now.
The airline took to its social media channels to share a tantalizing preview of what’s to come.
Currently, Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 777-300ER fleet, based at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), features the Safran Cirrus seat. Crafted by the design consultancy firm Orson Associates, these seats made their entrance in 2010 and continue to be embraced by 17 carriers, including renowned names like American Airlines, Air France, and of course, Cathay Pacific. The distinguishing feature of the Cirrus is that it was the pioneering business class seat design where passengers were oriented at an angle to the flight’s direction. This layout ensures each traveler direct access to the aisle and a fully flat bed, as described by Orson Associates.
Cathay Pacific’s Boeing 777 family incorporates various cabin configurations, encompassing both the -300ER and -300 variants. One of these layouts accommodates 368 passengers, with 40 seats designated for Business Class (featuring flatbed functionality), 32 for Premium Economy, and 296 for Economy Class. Without the Premium Economy section, the airline’s 777-300ER aircraft can accommodate 438 passengers: 42 in Business and 396 in Economy Class.
The most opulent cabin arrangement boasts an arrangement of six First Class, 53 Business Class, 34 Premium Economy, and 201 Economy Class seats, amounting to a total capacity of 294 passengers.
Data sourced from ch-aviation.com reveals that Cathay Pacific’s fleet encompasses 39 Boeing 777-300ER planes (12 of which are not presently active) and an additional 17 Boeing 777-300s (eight of these are currently inactive). Among the 39 -300ERs, 21 feature six First Class and 53 Business Class seats, while the remaining 18 are configured with higher passenger density.
