Celebrity creates small-group tours for Med cruises

Celebrity Cruises has created a series of shore excursions that emphasizes discovery of hidden gems.

The first set of excursions in the Celebrity Discovery Collection will be in the western Mediterranean, such as a live concert of medieval music in a basilica in Barcelona, and a day in southern France that starts in a wine vault in Nice and ends at the medieval town of St. Paul de Vence.

“We wanted to design a fresh collection of excursions that would immerse guests into the various inspired locales we visit throughout the western Mediterranean,” said Susan Bonner, vice president of revenue management and onboard revenue at Celebrity.

With a maximum of 24 guests in each tour, guests will get more time at each location, individual interaction with their guide, and a more up close and personal travel experience, Celebrity said.
