Celestyal Cruises to Sail Abu Dhabi Three Times Weekly

Celestyal Cruises has signed a three‑year partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, establishing the UAE capital as a key homeport for its Arabian Gulf itineraries. Beginning this December, the line will return with two ships, Celestyal Journey and the newly renovated Celestyal Discovery, and will make three weekly calls in Abu Dhabi through March 2026. The agreement aims to showcase the city’s cultural landmarks, world‑class museums and vibrant dining scene to an expanding roster of cruise guests.

Lee Haslett, Celestyal’s chief commercial officer, said the partnership underscores the line’s commitment to immersive, culturally rich experiences. “Abu Dhabi is a diverse and stunning destination, which is why we’re excited to not only homeport there but also include three weekly calls to the city throughout the winter season for the next three years,” he explained. The move builds on last year’s successful launch of the seven‑day “Desert Days” round‑trip itinerary from Doha aboard Celestyal Journey, which called at Bahrain, Dubai, Khasab, Sir Bani Yas Island and Abu Dhabi and was extended due to strong demand.

In December, Celestyal Discovery will arrive for three‑, four‑ and seven‑night “Iconic Arabia” voyages, inviting guests to explore desert oases, coastal forts and heritage sites. Both all‑inclusive ships will offer local guides, curated shore excursions and authentic regional cuisine, ensuring passengers receive a seamless cultural immersion with no unexpected expenses.

With the Arabian Gulf cruise market poised for record growth, Celestyal looks forward to collaborating closely with travel agents to highlight Abu Dhabi’s unique attractions. “The cruise industry in the Arabian Gulf is on track to welcome record passenger numbers in the coming years,” Haslett noted. “We’re thrilled to bring the very best of this special part of the world to our guests for many years to come.”
