Following a comprehensive $6.8 million refresh in Dubai, the 1,260-guest ship has relaunched its service in the Arabian Gulf, marking an exciting new chapter for the brand.
The extensive refurbishment has given Celestyal Journey a complete makeover, starting with a brand-new livery that now mirrors the signature hull wave and stars found on Celestyal Discovery. This updated exterior not only reinforces the ship’s identity as a flagship of the Celestyal fleet but also enhances its visibility on the water, ensuring that it stands out among other vessels in the region. In addition to the visual transformation, the ship has undergone critical technical upgrades. Crews have applied silicon paint to the submerged surfaces, a move designed to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency. The update of the power management system further optimizes the ship’s performance, promising a smoother and more energy-efficient sailing experience for guests.

Celestyal Journey is currently sailing the “Desert Days” itinerary, offering a round-trip experience from Doha, Qatar. This itinerary allows travelers to explore the unique beauty and cultural richness of the Arabian Gulf. The ship will continue to operate in the region through early March before repositioning to Athens, Greece, to kick off the new Greece and Mediterranean season. The transition marks a strategic move to meet rising demand in both regions, ensuring that guests can enjoy diverse travel experiences throughout the year.
Beginning on April 12, Celestyal Journey will set sail on a new itinerary titled “Heavenly Greece, Italy and Croatia.” This enticing round-trip voyage departing from Athens will take guests on an unforgettable journey, with stops including Kefalonia in Greece, Kotor in Montenegro, Bari in Italy, and both Corfu and Katakolo in Greece. An overnight stay in Dubrovnik, Croatia, further enriches the experience, allowing travelers to immerse themselves in the vibrant history and culture of the Adriatic coast. Later in the year, the ship will return to the Arabian Gulf in December, catering to the strong seasonal demand in the region.
“Our Arabian Gulf itineraries have seen phenomenal demand,” Haslett added. “Our last three Doha-Doha sailings operated at full capacity, and overall, we’re 35% above target for sailed guests. This demonstrates a real desire to explore this beautiful part of the world on our intimate, mid-sized ships.”
